Bird Beak Experiment

Today we took at look at the different types of beaks birds have and why they are so different. We discussed what the types of beaks allow different birds to eat,  where they live and why they have a beak of a certain shape. The students used pliers, tweezers, spoons, toothpicks and droppers to show the different types of beaks and discussed why they were the most effective on certain types of food. The foods we used ranged from seeds to gummy bears (flesh of animals).
