This week we learned about thermal energy and how it moves. The students did an experiment with ice cold water, hot water and glow sticks. The kids learned that in the cold water the glow stick "turned off" and in the hot water the
"turned back on". They were so excited to see how the temperature changed the way the glow stick reacted. Notice it glows much brighter in the hot water and in the cold water the stick was much dimmer. (This was an experiment done with my student teacher Ms. Storey...whom the kids love 😊)

Night At The Museum
Bright Star hosted Night At The Museum this past week. Students from each grade level represented various historical figures in America. As parents traveled around the school the students gave a small presentation on the historical figure they represented. This is Mary McLeod Bethune (aka Carmen), which is one of the historical figures 3rd graders study. The parents and students learned about many different people and answered questions along the way.

Future Paleontologists
Today we went "digging" for fossils and made our own casts and molds. It's amazing what you can do with play-dough, shells, Vaseline, liquid glue, plaster, random gems, small animals and bugs :) The kids had a great time and I really enjoyed watching them discuss and discover today!!! #scienceshouldbefun
