Eureka Math

We have been working hard lately on our fractions unit!! The kids are starting to see the equivalence between fractions and making fractions that are larger than 1 whole (with pictures and on a number line). On this day we were making a number line using our bodies and beanbags...the kids loved it!!

Habitat Projects

The kids did a fantastic job on their habitat projects. They had so much information about the animals, plants and geographical details of the region they chose to research. I am so proud of all the time and effort they put into these amazing projects!!!

Field Trip

Last week we went to the Georgia Aquarium. The kids had a blast and I think the parents were just as excited!! We were able to go behind the scenes and see how they feed those giant whale sharks. We even had a surprise visit by a penguin passing by our line.

Eureka!!!

We have been busy this past semester with Eureka. We have learned about rounding, telling time and elapsed time, multiplication, division, properties of multiplication and so much more!!!

Special Guest Reader

We had a very special reader this week in class. Mrs. Stewart our principal came to read about Yumion the onion. Yumion travels through all the different regions of Georgia and tell about all the different things he finds and learns.

We are measuring!!!

The last two weeks in math we've been
learning about kilograms, grams, liters and milliliters. While you are out and about ask your child if they think you would measure something using kilograms, grams, liters or milliliters.

Measurement using Kilograms and Grams

Today we guessed the weight of an object then measured that object to the nearest kilogram or gram. The students had to decide if we should weigh the object using kilograms or grams. (Ms. Storey taught our math lesson today)
