Group Work Time...WOO HOO!!!!

Today the kids worked in groups to "RDW" a word problem. They had to work as a group to read the question, draw it out, solve it and write an answer sentence. After they finished they had to present it to the class, explaining the process they used to figure out the answer.

Class "Pet"

We found a praying mantis outside yesterday...so of course we decided he needed a new home. Today we fed him some crickets and watched him "attack" his prey. The kids were so excited to experience nature up close. We talked about the traits and adaptations of the praying mantis.

Tape Diagrams and Number Bonds

We use both of these strategies for multiplication and division. We also use number bonds to show the distributive (break-apart) property of multiplication.
